Bonding a thermostat to a wall

Bonding a thermostat to a wall

As part of renovating a heating installation, a new thermostat is mounted. Instead of drilling new holes, we bond the room thermostat with X-Tack.

Step 1: Preparation

  • Degrease the back of the thermostat with TEC7 Cleaner. Let it work for a bit, then remove with a cleaning cloth.

  • Remove any debris from the substrate.

Step 2: Mounting

  • Apply X-Tack to the thermostat. Hold the spout perpendicular to the substrate, so that a triangular adhesive bead is formed. This guarantees a perfect distribution of the adhesive.

  • Press the thermostat firmly against the substrate. The thermostat can now be precisely positioned, but will not sag.

Step 3: Finishing

  • Remove excess X-Tack with Powerwipes and/or TEC7 Cleaner.
