nTec Polymer Technology: Redefining the standard

For years, MS hybrid polymer technology has been the gold standard in the adhesive and sealant industry, thanks to its versatility, strength, and flexibility. Tec7 has been a leader in this field since its inception, providing professionals with reliable products that can bond and seal almost any material. And even though the world made a giant technological leap since then, Tec7 maintained its status without ever making drastic changes.

However, in an ever-evolving construction landscape, the requirements in terms of performance and sustainability are continually increasing and conditions are getting more and more extreme. In order to establish its position for decades to come, Tec7 is now, for the first time in its history, introducing a major change in its technology called nTec Polymer Technology.
This cutting-edge technology has been conceived and is continuously developed in-house in the Novatech Laboratory in Olen, Belgium. It represents a huge step forward in performance and sustainability, introducing several key advancements that directly address the most common challenges faced by professionals today.

New generation MS hybrid polymer technology

nTec Polymer Technology is Novatech International's own high-performance polymer technology. Building on the known advantages of MS hybrid polymers in Tec7 products, nTec Polymer Technology uses a new and more contemporary platform that, among other things, builds up strength faster, adheres better, exhibits more elastic recovery capacity and has better bacteria and mould resistance. Moreover, nTec Polymer Technology also takes a step forward in terms of durability. This makes it an extremely future-proof and sustainable solution for every construction professional.

BETTER

Enhanced Elastic Recovery

Elastic recovery refers to the ability of a material to return to its original shape after being stretched or deformed - an essential property for quality adhesives and sealants used in environments with dynamic loads or temperature fluctuations.

With nTec, Tec7 has increased elastic recovery from 50% to an impressive 80-90%. This means that nTec adhesives can handle much greater stresses and consequently a longer lifespan can be guaranteed in even the most demanding applications.

Bacteria and mould resistance

Mould and bacterial growth can lead to serious health risks and compromise the integrity of installations. Here too, nTec Polymer Technology takes a big step forward. The new technology has an ISO 846 Class 0 bacterial and mould resistance rating. This means it matches or even exceeds the antimicrobial and antifungal capacities of many silicones, which are generally known as the best solution for antibacterial and antifungal sealing.

FASTER

2-4x Faster Curing

In addition to superior bond strength, nTec Polymer Technology dramatically improves curing times. One of the most time-consuming aspects of adhesive application is waiting for the product to reach workable bond strength, especially in demanding environments. Tec7 has addressed this by reducing the curing time by 2 to 4 times.

On porous materials such as wood, the curing time is now just 90 minutes, 2 times faster than before. On non-porous surfaces such as metal, the adhesive reaches workable strength in 6 hours, compared to 24 hours before. This improvement helps users speed up their work processes, reducing waiting time and allowing projects to be completed faster.

Enhanced Performance in Extreme Conditions

nTec Polymer Technology is designed to be a reliable partner in all conditions. Traditional adhesives often struggle to cure in cold conditions, but nTec's unique composition ensures that it already cures and builds strength at temperatures as low as -10°C. At this temperature, nTec cures at the same speed as traditional polymer adhesives at 5°C, offering unrivalled capabilities in cold weather applications.

STRONGER

Stronger bonds

One of the key features of nTec is its significantly improved adhesion strength. Thanks to the new, modern polymer platform and the optimised polymer composition, Tec7 has improved adhesion strength by 15-30%, depending on the bonded materials. The maximum tensile strength is now an impressive 380kg per 10cm².

The improved bond strength ensures durability and reliability, especially in demanding environments, where weak bonds can lead to costly damage and interruptions.

Planet & health

As industries become more aware of their impact on the environment, the need for more environmentally friendly materials has grown significantly in recent years. With numerous environmental and health certificates, Tec7 is known to be one of the most sustainable adhesives on the market. With its new formulation, Tec7 continues this trend and offers the healthiest and most environmentally friendly adhesive technology on the market.

Labels-certificated

Waste reduction and recycled materials

Before polymer adhesives hit the shelves, they are usually stored in foil bags. These bags, mostly made of an aluminium and PE laminate, allow a shelf life of 18 months.

The shelf life of Tec7 with nTec Polymer Technology remains 18 months, however, the foil bags have become redundant. In this way, Tec7 lowers material use and reduces waste.

Lastly, as from February 2025, Tec7 cartridges are manufactured from recycled materials. In this way, the brand ensures further sustainability throughout the supply chain and supports customers in making environmentally conscious choices.
