Gluing drywall panels

Gluing drywall panels

It is not difficult to neatly finish an old wall. In contrast to installing drywall or Gyproc wall panels with profiles, it is easier to attach the drywall panels directly to the wall. Mounting will be faster and you won't lose any space.

Mounting a plasterboard wall with FoamTack is therefore often the best alternative.

For mounting plates to inclined walls, and certainly for mounting ceiling plates, it is better to use the direct bonding strength of X-Tack.

Step 1: Preparation

  • Degrease and clean the surface with HP Clean.

  • Allow to soak in for a few seconds and rinse with water.

  • Remove dust from the plaster surface using a brush or vacuum cleaner.

Step 2: Gluing drywall

  • Apply vertical lines of FoamTack to the plasterboard, every 50 cm. And wait a moment until FoamTack becomes sticky.

  • If using X-Tack: place the nozzle straight onto the substrate, so that a triangular adhesive strip is formed. This guarantees a perfect distribution of the adhesive. Apply vertical lines of X-Tack, every 50 cm. Mount the panel immediately to avoid skin formation.

  • Apply the plasterboard. It is not necessary to apply permanent pressure.

Step 3: Finishing

  • Remove residues of FoamTack using the PUR Cleaner.

  • Remove residues of X-Tack with Powerwipes tissues.

  • Clean tools with Tec7 Cleaner.
