Bonding & sealing with Tec7: which product to use and when?
So why does Tec7 still have other adhesives and sealants in its range?
Sometimes, the realities of the construction industry present challenges that require pure specialisation and cannot possibly be addressed by a single product formula. Think, for example, of the immediate vertical bonding of heavy materials, chemical anchors that must not give way under any circumstances, or exposure to corrosive chemicals such as chlorine. Tec7 has developed specialised, top-quality products for these niche applications.
Can I sort this out with Tec7?
Many brands start with dozens of ‘specialised’ products, each designed for a single application. Tec7 turns that logic on its head.
This means you don’t need to be a product expert to make the right choice. You start with the all-rounder and only switch to a specialist product when the application requires it. That doesn’t make the Tec7 Adhesives & Sealants range any bigger – it simply makes it easier.
Always start with one question: “Can I solve this with Tec7?”
In most cases, the answer is simply: yes.
Only if your application has exceptional requirements in terms of speed, initial adhesion, anchoring or specialised sealing should you switch to one of the specialist products in the range.
To help you make the right choice — which Tec7 product, which adhesive for which application, and which sealant for which joint? — we have organised the Tec7 range into clear categories.

The all-rounders
These form the backbone of the range. Products that excel in their versatility: they both bond and seal virtually all materials. They form the basis for most jobs.
Tec7
The pioneer and the gold standard for general bonding and sealing work based on MS polymer.
Specialisation: Unrivalled versatility. Replaces assembly adhesive, wood glue, PU adhesive, silicone sealant and acrylic sealant in a single cartridge. Bonds to wet surfaces, even underwater.
Common applications: Fitting skirting boards, mirrors and window sills; sealing gutters, bath edges and joints; bonding wood, metal and stone.
When to use it? In 95% of all construction, fitting and sealing jobs where a rock-solid, permanently elastic bond or joint is required.
Tec7
Trans Clear
Tec7’s invisible counterpart.
Specialisation: 100% transparent bonding and sealing without compromising on the typical Tec7 strength and elasticity.
Common applications: Bonding glass blocks, plexiglass, transparent plastics, and invisible sealing around showers or sleek furniture.
When to use it? When aesthetics require the adhesive or sealant to be invisible. Ideal for seamless transitions where a coloured joint would be unsightly.
Trans
Trans Inox
The all-rounder with a distinctive, metallic finish.
Specialisation: Pigmented with high-quality aluminium particles for a perfect stainless steel or aluminium look.
Common applications: Sealing around stainless steel sinks, extractor hoods, aluminium profiles, banisters and splashbacks in industrial kitchens.
When to use? For seamlessly bonding and sealing metals where the joint must blend in completely with the surrounding material.
Trans Inox
Specialist adhesives
When you need immediate bonding strength, rigid joints or unique application methods. Which adhesive is best for specialist bonding jobs? You’ll find it here.
Tec7 Fast
The ultra-fast version of the classic Tec7.
Specialisation: Offers all the benefits of the original Tec7, but reaches its functional strength considerably faster. Due to its speed, it is more of a pure adhesive than an all-rounder.
Common applications: Bonding battens, skirting boards, kitchen units, bespoke cupboards, stair treads, panelling, etc.
When to use it? When rapid curing is crucial for meeting deadlines, or in colder temperatures that significantly slow down the curing process of classic polymers.
Tec7 Fast
X-Tack
The powerhouse for instant grip (High Tack).
Specialisation: Offers extremely high initial adhesion of up to 600 kg/m². The object is secured immediately without slipping.
Common applications: Mounting heavy materials, letterboxes on rough walls, large mirrors and ceiling panels.
When to use it? For heavy, vertical or suspended installations where mechanical support, props or clamps are not possible or would be time-consuming.
X-Tack
FoamTack Pro Construct
PU adhesive foam for structural work.
Specialisation: Bonds extremely quickly and is far cleaner and more efficient than traditional mortar or powder adhesive.
Common applications: Bonding insulation boards (EPS, PIR, PUR) and plasterboards (Gyproc) to walls, and erecting internal walls using quick-build blocks or (aerated) concrete blocks (Ytong).
When to use it? In structural and finishing work to bond large surfaces or blocks extremely quickly, dust-free and with minimal weight.
FoamTack Pro Construct
SprayTec
Hybrid polymer adhesive in spray form.
Specialisation: Provides a wafer-thin, web-like, double-sided, full-surface bond without lumps.
Common applications: fixing EPDM to roofs, bonding carpet, felt, veneer or cork, etc.
When to use? For installation over large surfaces where the adhesive needs to be distributed evenly throughout.
ST7-101 SprayTec Large Surfaces
Anchor
The liquid plug for structural anchors.
Specialisation: A two-component chemical anchor that cures to form a solid, rigid bond that is stronger than the substrate itself. Styrene-free.
Common applications: Anchoring threaded rods and reinforcing steel in concrete, brick or hollow walls. Fitting banisters, sections, etc.
When to use? For heavy-duty, high-load and non-flexible anchoring in both solid and hollow building materials where a conventional plug would fail.
Anchor
2K-Fix
Impact-resistant 2K PU adhesive, Low MDI
Specialisation: Cures to form an impact-resistant plastic and has excellent filling properties without shrinkage. Can be drilled and sanded.
Common applications: Structural repairs to broken plastic parts, quick wood joints, repairing torn hinges.
When to use? When thicker layers of adhesive are required or when the curing time is so short that assembly can take place almost immediately
2K-Fix
Super
The ultimate instant adhesive (cyanoacrylate).
Specialisation: Offers microscopic precision and sets in seconds. When used with the specific primer, it even bonds to the notoriously ‘unbondable’ plastics such as PP (polypropylene) and PE (polyethylene).
Common applications: Repairing small items of jewellery, rubber O-rings, toys, electrical components and automotive plastics.
When to use it? For small, precise repairs where a seamless, immediate bond is required.
